6 Things Every Bride Forgets on Her Wedding Day!

**IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS!** One of the reasons I became a Wedding planner was because I LOVE the DETAILS and organizing and being the one to save the day! Weddings are like a stage production. The success hinges on the Details. One hopes not to forget their lines, all the props come out on time and in the correct location, the crew knows where to go and what to do, and that all of the people that have come to see this production had a pleasant, joyful and easy experience. I am the director that makes sure all of that happens in a wedding! When you are bride trying to balance everything its inevitable that something might slip through the cracks. Here are a few details I have found in my years of experience that most brides forget! Remembering a pretty hanger for your dress – It’s a tiny detail, but when your photographer takes the classic photo of your dress hanging up before you put it on, you don’t want to ruin the shot with a plastic or wire hanger. Eating – Lets Face it, your nerves are going to be at an all time high. Most brides are not even thinking about how long the day will be and how long it will be before they actually get to eat dinner or lunch. Often brides don’t even get to enjoy the meal served at the reception, because everyone is so excited to congratulate you that your meal time often gets interrupted. So consider having something to eat before the wedding. While food may be the last...

Holiday’s with the In-Laws

As if the Holiday’s weren’t hectic enough, now that you are engaged and soon to be married you have to add your in-laws to the equation! Here are 4 of my Chic Tips to having a “Balanced” Holiday Season: **Don’t Try and Do Everything – ** You just got engaged, it’s the holiday’s you work full time, it’s cold outside and there is tons of traffic everywhere you go. Stop stressing and stop saying yes to everything. Don’t try and do everything this season. Planning your wedding should be your priority! **Just the Two of Us –** Spend alone time with your spouse, even if it means skipping a dinner with the family. This can be a time to remove yourself from the stresses of family and talk quietly with your spouse. Get out of the house for a few hours by yourselves or with your fiance. **Draw Names for Gift Giving –** Trying to buy a gift for everyone can get expensive. Pull names, or just agree on a dollar amount to spend on everyone. My favorite (what we do in our family) just buy gifts for all the kids under 18 years old! **Have an Escape Plan –** If there is tension in the family or things just aren’t going well, have a pre-planned escape. A way to exit gracefully. Families and the Holiday’s will always require balance. During this season just try and keep the lines of communication open and don’t loose site of your excitement for your upcoming wedding and marriage! You have time to work out the...

Winter Wedding Fun

** Wednesday Wedding Tip** Simple to Sensational This weeks Simple to Sensational Tip is: **Winter Adventures with the One You Love the Most!** Honestly, my favorite time of the year is Summer, but me and my team started brainstorming fun ideas for the colder months and now I’m actually pretty excited to try some of these with my honey! Everyone needs a little break, so come down from your planning cloud, grab your fiancĂ© and go have some fun! Here are 4 of my Chic “California Winter” inspired Activities: Hit the Slopes: One of the best things, I think, about living in California is we actually have access to Snow within an hour drive. So load up the ski’s and snow board and head for the mountains. If you don’t ski or snow board take lessons or just go play in the snow! Take a day trip or go a little further and make a weekend out of it! Ice Skating Anyone?: Yes, we even have Ice Skating in California! One of my favorite ice skating rinks is at Universal City Walk. They have free screenings of holiday film classics on a big outdoor screen. Plus live entertainment and snowfalls. Check around, I’m sure there is a rink close to home, but I just think Universal offers an evening or afternoon full of FUN things to do and see! Game Night: Call up some other couples, order a pizza and break out your favorite board game or deck of cards! Make it a competition, couples vs. couples! Picnic Indoors: Or as I like to call them “Carpet Picnics!” Grab...
